The widow of Floyd Thomas Sr., Mrs. Mary Alice Thomas, 90, formerly of rural Huntington, died at 3:05 p.m. Saturday at the Towne House Retirement Center in Fort Wayne, where she had lived the past five years.
Born Jan. 7, 1900 in Wells County, she was a daughter of Frank and Effie B. Struver [sic] Bayha. Her marriage to Mr. Thomas, who died June 24, 1974, took place in Bluffton March 27, 1921.
Mrs. Thomas, a homemaker, was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and home economics club, all of Markle.
She is survived by one daughter, Miss Jane Anne Thomas of Huntington; one son, Richard Dean Thomas of rural Huntington; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Goodwin Memorial Chapel.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Ronald Goetz at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel with burial following in Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the Markle Methodist Church, the American Diabetes Association or the Towne House Retirement Center.

Note: Shared wedding anniversary
Floyd Sr. and Mary Alice (Bayha) Thomas shared a wedding anniversary with their daughter-in-law's parents, Marion Joseph and Mildred Ruth (Hinklin) Stonebraker - not just on the same month and day, but the same year. The couples were both resident in Huntington Cty, Indiana, and were able to hold joint anniversary parties at times over the years.

Mary Alice Thomas, 90, died Saturday in The Towne House, Fort Wayne. She was the widow of Floyd Sr., who died in 1974.
Surviving are a daughter, a son, four grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and a great-great- grandchild.
Services are 11 a.m. tomorrow in Goodwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton, where calling is 2 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Haverstock Cemetery, Zanesville.
Preferred memorials are gifts to Markle United Methodist Church, American Diabetes Association or The Towne House.
