Narrative

Note: Agnes Corleen Bayha

Agnes married three times - the first when she was young, to Rudolph Borne (in 1912) with whom that ended in divorce (prior to 1918, as his WWI draft card gives his marital status as single). The second and third times were both to Harry Wysong - they married in 1923, divorced, and remarried in 1927, only to divorce once again. She had no children by either husband.

Within our family, Agnes is best known for having left the Midwest to spend some time living in the Southwest, working for a time as a Harvey girl in Clovis, Curry Cty, New Mexico. Several members of the family found this quite scandalous, and simply did not like to talk about it - most notably Agnes' mother, Effie (Stuver) Bayha.

Agnes came back to Indiana from New Mexico with many tales of the life and surroundings of the Southwest - something her niece, Jane Anne Thomas, took to heart. Jane Anne would spend many years of her life living in Flagstaff, Coconino Cty, Arizona, in part inspired by her aunt Agnes.

There is some uncertainty as to her middle name - Jane Anne notes it as Corleen, while the records from her first two marriages report it as Corrine.
