Note: Laura and Emma Schoen

Sisters Laura and Emma Schoen never married, and neither one appear to have had any children; they remained living with their father (Charles) after the death of their mother (Louise) in 1923, and continued to live together after the death of their father until younger sister Emma's death in 1958. Laura would survive her until her own death in 1964.

[headline] Emma Schoen Lifelong Resident Dies In Madison

Miss Emma Schoen of 304 East Wisconsin Avenue, a lifelong resident of this area died Monday at the Jackson Clinic in Madison, after a month's illness.

In her earlier years she was employed as a sales clerk in the Lizzie Lehman and the Walther and Frederickson dry goods stores.

She was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Born in the town of Ixonia on January 21, 1882, she had lived in Oconomowoc for the past 65 years.

A sister, Miss Laura Schoen of Oconomowoc and a brother Joseph, survive her.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Notbohm Funeral Home with interment in La Belle Cemetery. The Rev. N.E. Paustian will officiate.
