Narrative

His gravestone in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Allen Cty, Indiana, gives his birthdate as 2 Jul 1876. Both his WWI and WWII draft registration cards give his year of birth as 1877. Interestingly, his WWI draft card names his contact as Milla Espich, while his WWII draft card names his contact as Henrietta Espich.

In 1917, his WWI draft card names his place of residence as Zanesville, Wells Cty, Indiana, and his occupation as barber. In 1942, his place of residence (according to his WWII draft card) is Fort Wayne, Allen Cty, Indiana, and his place of employment is a barber shop.

ADDENDUM: Buried in Greenlawn Memorial Park (Fort Wayne, Allen Cty, Indiana) are two Espichs - Guy W. and Etta D., with matching stones. There is a Millie M. Espich buried in Lindenwood Cemetery (also in Fort Wayne) with L. Neil Espich (b. 1904, d. 3 Jun 1960) in the adjoining plot, with similar (possibly matching) headstones. Additionally, there is a 1940 US Census record for Millie Espich in Fort Wayne showing her as head-of-household and giving her marital status as widowed, with son Neil Espich resident with her.

As Guy was still alive in 1940, and as his contact on his draft card had changed, and Millie and son Neil were living without him in 1940, I believe this indicates that Guy and Millie divorced sometime after the birth of Neil, and that Guy remarried to Henrietta (nicknamed "Etta"). I believe Neil was a son of Guy, but I am unaware of whether there are further children (born to either marriage) at this point. I also do not have further marriage details for Guy and Henrietta at this time.
