Narrative

Note: the marriages of Louis Gertrude Simon

Louise appears to have married at least twice, though I have not found much in the way of records to verify her marital and family history.

Her first husband was George Silver Bonnalie, b. 30 Nov 1898 in Minnesota; the two of them married sometime after 1920. as Louise was counted as an unmarried young woman in her parents' household in the census that year. George and Louise were counted together in the 1930 US Census, and George died just two years later in the summer of 1932, at the age of 33. I have not found any records naming the two of them as parents, either birth records or marriage records of any potential children.

In the 1940 US Census, Louise was listed as a widowed boarder in the household of Emma Pagel in Mapleton, Blue Earth Cty, Minnesota. A user-submitted family tree on the FamilySearch.org website names her second husband as Willard Francis Mercer (b. 2 Apr 1906 in Minnesota, d. 10 Feb 1964 in Oaktown, Knox Cty, Indiana), and gives their wedding date and place as 2 Oct 1943 in Detroit, Wayne Cty, Michigan.

I have not found any records to confirm Willard's vital dates, nor their wedding date or location. The only confirmed records I have been able to find for Willard are for his previous marriage to Alwyn Elizabeth Stephens on 20 Mar 1931 in Olmsted Cty, Minnesota, and the birth of their son, an unnamed boy presumed not to have survived, on 27 May 1937, also in Olmsted Cty. In the 1940 US Census, Willard was counted as a lodger in Highland Park, Wayne Cty, Michigan, listed as divorced.

As best I can tell from the records I have found so far, Louise does not appear to have had any children from either of these marriages; I also cannot confirm if she and Willard remained married until his death, or if they divorced sometime prior.
