Narrative

Note: Clara Augusta Simon and family

Clara and her husband Frank Fred Luskow appear to have had only two surviving children - twin girls Alice Vivian and Ruth Evelyn Luskow, born not quite two years after the parents were married.

Of the two girls, I have found little for Ruth after her birth record and the census records for her parents' household other than the 1940 US Census record (placing her as a lodger in a household in Windom, Cottonwood Cty, Minnesota), a listing for her on the FindaGrave.com website, and a reference to her as "Ruth Johnson" in her sister's 1987 obituary. The photo connected to her burial listing shows a headstone bearing the name of "Ruth Luskow Johnson." I have not found any marriage record or obituary for her, and so I have no information on her husband's name, her marital status at the time of her death, or whether she had any children.

Alice's obituary names her "Miss Alice Luskow," but she does appear to have married in 1939 to Clarence Martin Lunde, a man seventeen years her senior who appears to have been married at least once previously. The couple were counted together in the 1940 US Census, but by 1945 Clarence remarried to Julietta Simpson (to whom he appears to have remained married until his death in early 1965). Interestingly, on Clarence's 1942 World War II Draft Registration card, he did not name a spouse as his contact, but rather a man named "Roy Holger." It is possible that Clarence and Alice divorced prior to late 1942, but it is certain they divorced prior to late 1945. The only survivor named in Alice's obituary was her sister, Ruth. I have not found further information for Alice.

As such, it appears that Clara and her husband had no grandchildren, and Clara's line may have ended with Ruth's death in 1998.
