Narrative

There is a "Lizzie" Schwantes, US born to German parents, listed as an eighteen-year-old servant in the household of the English-born Mary Baker in the 1905 Wisconsin State Census. Whether that record applies to Louise Schwantes or not is unclear, but it may; her mother, Louise, was sometimes called "Lizzie," and that nickname may have been used for the younger Louise as well.

ADDENDUM: At least one public tree on Ancestry.com (owner "briscocounty") gives the wife of Otto Adolph Zuehlke as the daughter of Ferdinand Friedrich Schwantes and Maria Zuehlke. I believe this to be a mistake based on an indexing error I have recollection of seeing before, but I can't be certain of that. The other references (including obituaries) that I've found strongly suggest I'm correct.
