Narrative

[Obituary for Lee R. Thomas, from the Huntington Herald-Press, 8 Jun 1933.]

Lee R. Thomas, eighty-five, died at 5:15 o'clock Wednesday evening at the home of his son, Charles H. Thomas, seven miles east of the city on the Hosler [sic] road after a seven weeks illness.

Mr. Thomas was born October 26, 1847, to John and Elizabeth Thomas in Ohio. He came to Indiana when eleven years old and settled in Zanesville. He moved to Union township in 1888 where he has lived since.

Hiss [sic] marriage was to Helen Marr [sic] True November 12, 1876. Two children, Arthur B. Thomas, Marshall, Mich., and Charles H. Thomas, Union township, two sisters, Iola [sic] Thomas, Bluffton; and Mrs. Emma Jackson, Atlanta; and five grandchildren, survive.

He was a member of the Radical United Brethren church of Zanesville where funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon with Biship A.M. Johnson, of this city, in charge.

Burial will be at Zanesville.

The family desires that all floral offerings be omitted.
