Rev. George L. Bayha passed away at his home here this morning at 9 a.m.

The former Methodist minister lived at 736 Church Street, since retiring in Indiana two years ago. He had served as a minister for over 40 years.

Rev. Bayha's last charge was in Johnstown. He had previously served churches in Black Lick, Saltsburg, Leechburg, Mt. Pleasant as well as charges in other communities.

Since arriving in Indiana he was acitve in the local Methodist Church.

Previous to his ordination as a minister by thte Pittsburgh Conference he served for a time as a YMCA secretary in Punxsutawney.

The deceased was born January 27, 1879, in Monongahela, the son of George L. Bayha and Julia McFarland Bayha.

Rev. Bayha is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary McCune Bayha; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Myers, Monongahela; a daughter, Martha, married to James W. Martin of Leechburg; grandchildren, Janet, John, and Jay Martin, all of Leechburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Hill Funeral Home beginning tomorrow at noon until the service at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.

Dr. R.W. Faus, pastor of the Methodist Church, will conduct the serices.

The Reverend George L. Bayha died at his home in Church Street, Indiana, Pa., on Saturday morning, September 27. He underwent operation in May and had been in poor health since, however, his death was sudden.

Mr. Bayha was born and reared in Monongahela, leaving the Monongahela First Methodist Church to become a minister. He last served in Johnstown and then removed to Indiana upon retirement.

The deceased was born January 27, 1877, and would have been 80 years old his next birthday. He was the son of the late George and Julia McFarland Bayha.

He leaves one sister, Mrs. Agnes Myers of Monongahela, in addition to his wife, Mary McCune Bayha; one daughter Martha, wife of James Martin of Leechburg; three grandchildren, Janet, John and Jay Martin.

Interment tomorrow will be in Blairsville Cemetery. A sister, Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Watson, died just three months ago, and another sister, Mrs. Nelson (Lydia) Luker, in 1946.

Relatives and friends plan to attend services in Indiana.
