[Obituary for Evans Thomas, paper unknown but presumably the Bluffton News-Banner.]
Services for Evans (Sam) Thomas, 48, Zanesville, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Zanesville EUB Church, the Rev. L.T. Norris officiating.
Mr. Thomas died Sunday at 5 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital where he had been a patient eight hours.
A resident of Zanesville for 10 years, he was a member of the EUB Church there. He was employed by the Air National Guard at Baer Field for 10 years. Mr. Thomas was a Navy veteran of World War II, and he was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Lynne, at home; and a brother, Brice, Roanoke.
Burial will be in the Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville. Friends may call at the Elzey Funeral Home, Ossian, today after 7 p.m. and until noon when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state from 1 p.m. until time of services.
