Narrative

The 2007 obituary for her daughter, Roberta Louise (Rowley) Huffman, mentions two surviving sisters - Sara (Rowley) Bloedow, of whom I had record, and Sharon (Rowley) Christian, of whom I did not previously have any note or reference. That same obituary gives three siblings as preceding her in death - Donald Paul Rowley, who is named her brother, and two unnamed half-siblings (one brother, one sister). Interestingly, I had record of Donald Paul, but no knowledge at all of any half-siblings, nor did I have any information about which of her parents had other children.

I've looked for other marriage records for both Theodore and Faye, and looked for birth records that name only one of them as a parent, and haven't found anything as of yet. There would seem to be limited time in which such siblings might have been born - on Theodore's side, his listing in his father's household in the 1920 US Census indicates he is single, and there do not appear to be any children in the household that could be attributed to him. Likewise, Faye appears as a "hired girl" in the Boone family household in the 1920 US Census, listed as single. There are two young children there, but both are boys and the couple at the head of the household are only in there thirties, so I don't think it very likely that these children could have been Faye's.

Faye's marriage to Forest Merle Bailey didn't occur until she was fifty-five years old, so I doubt that they had any children - nor have I found any indication that they might have, regardless of my assumptions about their ages. It's possible that there was another marriage for Faye between Theodore and Forest, but I've found no record of it. If Faye and Theodore remained married until his death, that would have made Faye forty-seven, which makes squeezing in a marriage (and the birth of two children) prior to marrying Forest fairly unlikely. Even if we assume that she and Theodore divorced after the birth of their youngest child but prior to his death - of which there is no indication whatsoever - there still wouldn't have been much time available for her to marry and have other children, as she still would have been in her early-to-mid forties.

ADDENDUM: The explanation seems to be much simpler than I've made it - Faye's second husband, Forest, had two children, a son and a daughter, both of whom preceded Roberta in death. It seems her obituary (as posted on the FindaGrave.com website) mistakenly labels them half-siblings of Roberta's, instead of step-siblings.
