Narrative

Notes: Researching Francis Stuver

Thus far, I have not found any further records for Francis outside of his burial in County Line Lutheran Cemetery and the 1860, 1870, and 1880 US Census records for his father's household. The dates from his gravestone agree with the information I have from the files of Jane Anne Thomas. Interestingly, having walked that cemetery, his stone is very obviously the newest one visible, and is one of the few that remain standing. Based on his death date and some historical information about the cemetery, his interment is one of the last (if not the last) performed there prior to the cemetery's closure.

The only reference I have for a marriage for Francis is from Jane Anne's notes - giving his wife as Mary Hieser, but with no vital dates and no event date. I have not yet found a record for their marriage, though I suspect that her last name may be spelled differently than what was given in the notes, depending upon the phonetics. Their marriage would also have had to occur after 1880. In addition to not having confirmation of whether or not he was actually married, I also do not know if he had any children prior to his death.
