[Obituary for Waldo F. Baer, from the Galion Inquirer, 25 May 1978.]
CARDINGTON - Waldo F. Baer, 80, 311 S. Marion St., died at 3:20 this morning in Morrow County Hospital after a two-day illness.
He had moved to Cardington 23 years ago from Galion and was a retired employee of Galion Manufacturing Co. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
The son of Charles and Matilda (Schear) Baer, he was born in Dover, Ohio, May 28, 1897. On June 16, 1932 he married the former Martha Cleland. His wife survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Priscilla Bowen, Mount Gilead; Mrs. Deloris Gillespie, Galion; Mrs. Barbara Dormer, San Diego and Mrs. Linda Maceyko, Cardington; two sons, Carl and Richard Baer, both Mount Gilead; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. D.M. Hedrrck [sic], Mansfield and two brothers, Foster, of Leipsic and Howard Baer, Shelby. One daughter and a brother are deceased.
Funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Curl Funeral Home will be officiated by Rev. Patrick Kelly. Calling hours will be observed anytime after 7 this evening. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
