[Obituary for Lloyd G. Caley, from the Huntington Herald-Press, 23 Feb 1989.]

Lloyd G. Caley, 83, 586 Hitzfield St., died at 6:03 a.m. today (Feb. 23, 1989) at Huntington Memorial Hospital after an extensive illness.

Mr. Caley, who was a former manager of Montgomery Ward stores throughout the Midwest, was also the owner-operator of Huntington's Geedy-Corey Hardware Store from 1948 to 1975. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne, and the Huntington Rotary Club. He was past president of the Indiana Retail Hardware Association, serving in that capacity in 1962, and served on the organization's board for eight years.

Mr. Caley was born March 9, 1905 in Wells County to Riley and Ella Hoopengarner Caley. His marriage was April 9, 1927 in Huntington to the former Vera M. Schoeff, who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Duwane G. Caley, and Darl D. Caley, both of Huntington; a daughter, Bonnie Ostrow, Huntington; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Naoma Redding and Gladys Cox.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deal & Robbins Funeral Home. Masonic services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday [at] the funeral home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Rev. Lamar Imes officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Trinity United Methodist Church.
