Vera M. Caley, 93, a resident of the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, died at the home at 2:10 a.m. Sunday (July 4, 1999).
Mrs. Caley was a former resident of Jefferson Street in Huntington. She and her husband had operated the former Geedy-Corey Hardware Store, Huntington.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Church Circle, United Women's Group, and the Methodist Prayer Group. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Huntington.
She was born Jan. 18, 1906 in Jackson Township to William H. and Lilly Schroyer Schoeff. She married Lloyd Caley April 9, 1927 in Huntington; her husband died Feb. 23, 1989.
Surviving are two sons, Darl Carley and Duwane Caley, both of Huntington; a daughter, Bonnie Ostrow, Huntington; a sister, Gladys Young, Roanoke; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A brother, Russell Schoeff, and a sister, Helen Johnson, are deceased.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, with services at the funeral home at noon. Rev. William Rapp will officiate.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
