Narrative

In the text A Brief History of Bishop Jacob Mast and Other Mast Pioneers (pp649-650), Daniel's date of death is given as "Nov. 25, 1856," though an announcement of his death ran in the newspaper Urbana Citizen and Gazette, 29 Feb 1856, stating "DIED... At his residence in Salem township, on the 26th inst., Mr. Daniel Mast, an old and respected resident of that township, aged about 70 years."

I suspect a transcription error or similar occurred in the work of writing and publication of the text in 1911, leading to the mistaken date. I have assumed the newspaper, current with the year of his death, to carry the more accurate information at this point.
