Narrative

Alice and her husband Adam appear to have had only three children - Clarence, Francis (called "Frank"), and Pearl. Of the three children, I have only located a marriage record for one (Clarence), and that only a year prior to his death in 1937. Frank died that same year, which leads to some speculation that their deaths may be related, though I have not found information to indicate one way or another. That I have been able to determine, neither Clarence nor Frank had any children.

Pearl appears to have lived to the age of eighty-eight, and is buried in the same cemetery (Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Allen Cty, Indiana) in which both her brothers and her parents were buried. I have not found any indication that Pearl married or had children at this point, which leads me to believe that Alice's line may have ended with Pearl's death in late 2000.

Narrative

In addition to the 1900 US Census listing for her parents' household that placed Alice in Jackson Twp, Allen Cty, Indiana, there was a listing that same year in neighboring Monroe Twp for the household of Alice's first cousin, William Voirol (son of Eleanor Cayot and her first husband, Julian Voirol). William's household included a young woman named "Alice Grumeaux," aged twenty-three, listed as a servant. Both listings give "Alice's" birthdate as August, though her parents reported her age as twenty-two. I am uncertain as to whether both of these listings apply to this particular Alice, though I am unaware of another Alice Gromeaux of a similar age living in that area.
