Esther Mae Foust, 86, a resident of Markle Health Care Center, died March 29, 2001, at 5:15 p.m. in Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Foust was a former owner of the Country Beauty Shop, retiring in 1991 after more than 56 years as a beautician, and was a member of Loon Creek Church of the Brethren.
A 1932 graduate of East Union High School in Wells County, she also graduated from Betty Jean Beauty College in Fort Wayne and was a member of the Markle Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Foust was born Dec. 17, 1914, in Wabash County to F.A. and Hazel Mae Byrd Thomas. She was married March 1, 1937, in Markle to Walter Foust, and he preceded her in death Aug. 25, 1965.
Surviving are two sons, Lynn, of Niles, MI, and Mark of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Diane Lahr, of Huntington; a sister, June Coffield Schell, of Bluffton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services were held April 1, 2001, at 1 p.m. in Bailey-Love Mortuary, with Rev. Richard Stiver officiating. Burial was in the Lancaster Cemetery.
