Narrative

Charles and Arthur may have been twins.

Narrative

In the 1930 US Census, in Sullivan, Jefferson Cty, Wisconsin, is the household of the 40-year-old Charles Schultz, with 36-year-old wife Clara and children Ralph, Hazel, Dean, and Marie Ann. The same pair are buried in Rock River Cemetery in Jefferson, Jefferson Cty, Wisconsin; unknown if this is the Charles Schultz, son of Frank and Bertha (Wendt) Schultz as of yet. That Charles W. is b. 1889, d. 1948; Clara E. is b. 1894, d. 1961.

ADDENDUM: in the 1920 US Census, also in Sullivan, are the same married pair and the two eldest children (Ralph and Hazel). There is also a WWI draft registration card for a Charles William Schultz (b. 5 Jun 1889) from Sullivan, Jefferson, Wisconsin, indicating that he was born in Concord, is a farmer, and is married with a child. The WWII draft card for a Charles William Schultz with the same birthdate and a residence of Jefferson, Jefferson Cty, Wisconsin names his wife as Clara Schultz.

The 1940 US Census also shows the same married pair in Jefferson, Jefferson Cty, Wisconsin, with the youngest children (Dean and Marie Ann) still living with them.

SECOND ADDENDUM: A closer review of the 1900 US Census record for father Frank's household shows both Arthur and Charles listed as age ten, each with a birthdate of October 1890. That may mean the Charles, husband of Clara, is not the one in our family's line.
