[Obituary for "Mrs. William Wendt," from the Oconomowoc Enterprise, 18 Dec 1914.]

Mrs. William Wendt died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Gleichman, at Sullivan, Wis., on Saturday, Dec. 12, 1914, aged 72 years.

Mrs. Wendt, whose maiden name was Ottilie Schultz, was born in Germany on Sept. 16, 1842, and in 1858 married William Wendt. Soon after their marriage they came to America, residing in Jefferson county ever since. Mrs. Wendt is survived by six children: August Wendt, of Concord; Mrs. Bertha Schultz, Mrs. Martha Eckert of Rome, Wis.; Mrs. Matilda Stargard of Oconomowoc; Mrs. Emma Gleichmann of Sullivan; Theodore Wendt of Okauchee. She is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Gleichman residence, thence to the church at Rome, with interment in the Rome cemetery.
