Narrative

[Marriage announcement for Florence Nagel and Leo Bumann, from the Abbotsford Tribune, 4 Nov 1937; posted online to the wiclarkcountyhistory.org website.]

Miss Florence Nagel and Leo Bumann exchanged wedding vows in a beautiful church ceremony, Wednesday morning at 8:30 in St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The Rev. Fr. C. D. Brady officiated.

The bride was radiant in her white brocade velvet gown, cut on princess style with long train. Her long tulle veil was worn over the face. She carried a bouquet of white and yellow roses.

Miss Nagel was attended by her sister, Lucille, as maid of honor, and Miss Marie Bumann, sister of the groom, as bridesmaid. They wore chiffon velvet gowns of Royal blue, and dark green, respectively, silver slippers and had coronets of white flowers in their hair.

The groom was attended by his two brothers, John and Rudy.

The mixed choir from the Catholic church at Wurzburg sung the high mass. Bob Tessmer, nephew of the bride, was one of the altar boys. The church was beautifully decorated in yellow and white chrysanthemums and roses.

Following the wedding ceremony the bridal couple and 31 guests went to the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Nagel. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Bumann left for a wedding trip to Milwaukee, Chicago, and Angola, Indiana.

They will be at home to their friends about Nov. 15th in Abbotsford, Wis.

The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School and has a host of friends here. The groom is employed at the White House Milk plant.

Out of town guests who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Bumann, parents of the groom; the Misses Adeline, Rosalie, Anna, Agatha, Catherine, sisters; Alex, John and Rudy, brothers; all of Marathon City; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bumann, White Lake and Miss Marie Bumann, another sister of White Lake.
