Narrative
Harriett Waits' ancestry and family history in America stems from her great-grandfather Adam Wecht, born in 1726 in Baden-Württemberg, Germany; his descendancy includes a vast portion of the population of Weights/Waites/Waits and other anglicized spellings found in the US today.
I have not yet found her obituary or other confirmation of her death date, though there is a probate court notice in the Marion Star, 30 Mar 1894, p8, which reads "Geo. W. Hinklin appointed administrator with the will annexed of the estate of Harriet Hover, deceased."
ADDENDUM: The text The Wacht/Wecht/Weight/Waite Family History (Vickie Elaine Waite Trostle, 2000) details the ancestry of Johannes Wecht, purported father of Adam Waite and grandfather of Harriet, back through Johannes' immigrant father Adam Wacht, to Adam's father Joel Wacht, and ultimately ending with Joel's father Jacob Wacht. The text gives Johannes' birthdate, and names his wife (Dorthea Fry) and her parents (Jacob and Catherine Fry), along with giving the marriage date (10 Apr 1792) and the source for the marriage information. The text does not name or enumerate their children, so I will need to find additional information to link Harriet and her father Adam to the greater ancestry present in this text.
