Narrative
Note: Researching the family of Harry Blane Boyington
Harry and his wife, Victoria (Martin), had a relatively large family with what, to my thinking, was an uncommon surname that should have made record-finding easier and more successful than I have been thus far. As five of their six children were daughters, at least some of the complication is understandable, with surnames typically changing at marriage and such.
- Oldest daughter Ethelyn married Oscar B. Holt in 1933, and the two of them moved had at least one daughter (Karen) prior to moving to Arkansas (where they were counted in the 1940 US Census). After that, the next record I can find for the two of them is their burial listings on the FindaGrave.com website, with no supplemental information available. I do not know at this time if they had any children beyond Karen, nor do I have confirmation of Karen's birthdate or other information for her after 1940.
- Gordon, their second child and only son, married Dorotha Ackley in 1938; the marriage date is lifted from the inscription on their shared headstone as shown on their listings on the FindaGrave.com website, as I have not found a marriage record for the two of them. I have not found Gordon's household in the 1940 US Census, though I suspect he and his wife were still living in Oklahoma at the time. Other than their US Social Security Death Index records, I have not found further information for Gordon and Dorotha, including whether they had any children.
- Mildred is last confirmed in her parents' household in the 1930 US Census; her life after that point is unclear to me, but it appears she may have been married multiple times and may have had at least one son.
- Beverly Ann is last confirmed in her parents' household in the 1940 US Census; she appears to have married at least twice and had at least two children, possibly more.
- Norma Jacqueline was counted as a teenager in her parents' household in the 1940 US Census; in the years that followed, she married William Jemelka and had two children.
- Patricia was counted as a young girl in her parents' household in the 1940 US Census; the next record I have found that appears to relate to her is a marriage record from Solano Cty, California on 3 Mar 1973, to Harold Cass. I have not found records of any other marriages for her, nor have I found a confirmed birthdate or whether she had any children.
