Narrative
Jacob Beaber appears to have married twice - once to Sarah Kohr, who died in 1864, and next to Caroline Komp, who died in 1917. (Jacob lived until 1920.) From those two marriages, he appears to have had nine children, of which three were known to be infant or child deaths. One daughter, Minnie, is unaccounted for after the 1870 US Census (when she was a nine-year-old living in her father's household), so it is unknown whether she survived to adulthood and perhaps married and had children, or whether she died as a child or young woman.
Of the remaining five - all daughters, four of them from his second marriage - two of them (Etta and Gertrude) married and became teachers, but appear to have had no children. One (Lillie) became a teacher, and then a missionary working primarily in the Middle East, without ever marrying or having children. Another (Daisy) married and appears to have had one son, but little information has been found for him beyond his birthdate, a 1920 US Census listing, and a US Social Security Death record from August 1984, so it is not known if he married or had children.
That leaves his eldest, Mary, who had seven children, four of whom had children of their own. Of Jacob's grandchildren, all but one were born to Mary, and all fourteen of his known great-grandchildren came from her family.
