[headline] Mrs. Alverta Call Dies Last Evening

Mrs. Alverta (Allie) B. Call, 84, of near Craigville, died at 5:15 p.m.
Thursday at the South View Nursing Home, Bluffton. She had been in failing
health three years and critically ill for three months.

Born in Wells County March 23, 1881, she was a daughter of Turner and
Anna Ward-Vaughn, and was married to Joseph W. Call August 19, 1899. Her
husband preceded her in death June 25, 1962.

Mrs. Call was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Forrest Kramer of Huntington; five sons,
Ellis Call of Decatur, Elton Call of Crawfordsville, Edward Call of Bluffton, Earl
Call of Decatur, and Enos Call of Columbia City Route 3; two sisters, Mrs.
Stella Chalfant of Griffith, and Mrs. Myrtle Kiefer of Bluffton Route 3; 26
grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pleasant Valley
Church, with a grandson, Rev. Richard Call, officiating, assisted by Rev. Noel
Reed. Burial will be in the Shady Cemetery. Friends may call at the Goodwin
Funeral Home in Bluffton after 7 p.m. today and at the church after 12 noon
Sunday.
