Narrative

Note: The marriages and children of Wayne Willard Weible

I have not found enough records to give me a complete accounting of Wayne's life, so the picture I have here is fairly incomplete. I can say he seems to have moved around quite a bit, and appears to have married at least twice and had at least one daughter.

In early 1918, he married Michigan-born Lucille Patricia Schwirse in Great Falls, Cascade Cty, Montana; their daughter Retha Louise was born there ten months later, and the three of them moved shortly afterwards to Seattle, King Cty, Washington. Sometime before the summer of 1927, Wayne and Lucille had divorced (as noted when she remarried in Canada in July of that year). I have not found a listing for Wayne in the 1930 US Census (when Retha was listed as living with Wayne's parents, Oscar and Ella), but by 1940 he appears to have remarried, as the US Census that year lists him living in Delhi Twp, Ingham Cty, Michigan with a much younger wife named Helen. I have not found a marriage record for the two of them as of yet, nor have I found her maiden name or vital dates.

Wayne died just eight years later in Lansing, Ingham Cty, Michigan, with his death record listing him as married but without naming his spouse. He may have remained married to Helen until his death, or he may have been married another time. I have also not found a burial location for Wayne at this point.

The only child of Wayne's that I can confirm is Retha, though I suspect he may have had a second daughter with Lucille, as the 1930 US Census record for his parents' household lists Retha and an Idaho-born girl named Delores Weible, three years younger than Retha; the birthplaces for both the girls' parents are listed as the same, so I suspect that Delores indeed a full sister of Retha's. I have not found any indication that there were other children born to him from that marriage or any others.
