[second line] Rites Wednesday Afternoon At Family Residence

John F. Stuver, 78, died unexpectedly at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at his home, 731 Etna avenue. Mr. Stuver had finished his supper and died of a heart ailment. He had been in failing health for 13 years.

Mr. Stuver was born December 9, 1878, in Huntington, to Alfred and Martha Cooper Stuver. He married Ovilla Weston August 6, 1900.

He was a lifelong resident of Huntington county and served with the Huntington fire department for several years. He also operated a grocery at Barbee lake for eight years. He lived for a number of years on a farm on Huntington route seven.

Surviving are the widow; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Poe of Huntington, and Mrs. Effie Bayha of Bluffton, and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, William and Charles, preceded him in death.

The body was returned from the Robbins funeral home to the family residence where friends may call and where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. E.R. Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
