Narrative
[Obituary for Amy C. Eckerle, paper and date unknown; microfilm copy from the Herrick Public Library, Holland, Ottawa Cty, Michigan.]
Amy C. Eckerle, 99, died October 24, 1999, at Life Care Center at LaGrange.
She was born March 5, 1900, in Allen County to Henry and Alvina (McFadden) Smith.
She moved to LaGrange from West Palm Beach, Fla., in 1985. She was also a former resident of South Bend and Elkhart. She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaGrange.
She was married May 29, 1920, in Hillsdale, Mich., to Albert L Eckerle. He died March 28, 1993.
Surviving is one daughter, Joann (Mrs. John) Pipher, LaGrange; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John R. in 1944; a sister and four brothers.
Narrative
Her indexed marriage record gives her middle name as "Cecil," but I suspect it was actually "Cecille."
