Funeral services were held Wednesday morning In Ballinger Funeral Home, Rev. Stan Garment officiating, for James M. Baker, 87, of St. Rt. 37. Burial was in Salem Church Cemetery near Meeker and Big Island.
Mr. Baker died Tuesday, Jan. 24 in Fostoria City Hospital, Fostoria, O. He had been seriously ill for three days.
A retired farmer, he was a member of the Salem Church of God.
Born April 8, 1890 at New Bloomington, he was a son of George and Victoria Hill Baker. Jan. 6, 1910 he married the former Verdie Glaser who preceded him in death in 1952.
Surviving are five sons and two daughters: Leslie of Findlay, Phillip of Marion, Don of Ashley, Glee of Prospect, James Jr. of Richwood, Mrs. Floyd Kagy of Fostoria and Mrs. Lloyd Kagy, Findlay. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Fred of Richwood and Walter of Marion.
