Narrative

Note: The children and step-children of Blanche Judd

Blanche and both of her husbands (Elias Shriver and Leon Hall) were all three married twice - Blanche and Elias after the deaths of their first spouses, and Leon after his divorce from his first wife. Elias was married to Anna Wines (b. 1875, d. 1905) and the two of them had at least three children (Oscar, Sarah, and Caroline) prior to her death in 1905. Blanche, his second wife, would go on to give him four more children (Oral, Edith, Edna, and Boyd) before his death in 1917.

Blanche would then move in with Leon Hall, working as his housekeeper, between 1917 and 1920 - she was counted as his employee, and her children as his boarders, in the 1920 US Census. Previously, Leon appears to have married Flossie Manwaring in 1911 in Indiana, and there is a death record from Cass Cty, Michigan, dated 15 Aug 1917, for an infant Leon Legrand Hall, with Leon and Flossie named as parents. Leon reported his status as "married" in the 1920 US Census, and Flossie appears to have done the same, living on her own shortly before remarrying to Paul Behrman in the spring of 1920. Flossie and Leon do not appear to have had any surviving children.

I would guess Leon and Flossie's divorce was final in late winter of 1920, as Leon and Blanche married in March of that same year (just two weeks before Flossie and Paul). Several years later, Blanche would give Leon a daughter (Betty Jean), their only child and his only known surviving child.
