Narrative

[Obituary for Felix Oscar Miller, from the Fort Benton River Press, date unknown; posted online to the FindaGrave.com website.]

Funeral services for Felix Oscar Miller, a resident of this city since 1950 and of Chouteau county since 1913, were held from the Benton Funeral Home chapel on Saturday afternoon and were conducted by the Rev. Richard Gustafson, of Great Falls. Rev. and Mrs. W. Lloyd Hanley sang accompanied by Miss Marion Smith. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Miller passed away at the St. Clare hospital at 11 P.M. last Tuesday evening. He had gone out to the ranch in the Eagle Butte section to assist with some farming operations and was stricken and passed away a few hours after his arrival at the hospital.

Felix Oscar Miller was born August 22, 1891, at Asperg, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Miller. He came to the United States in 1905 to Philadelphia and resided for some time at Toledo, Ohio. He was united in marriage on March 4, 1910, to Edna Mae Weible at Lima. They came to Montana in 1913 and took up a homestead in the Eagle Butte section, just south of Virgelle, and resided there until 1950 when they had constructed a new home in this city on Upper Front Street where they have since resided.

Mr. Miller was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him and his passing will be mourned by a large circle of friends. Through perseverance and hard work he had added to his land holding until it was more than 3400 acres. He is survived by his widow, one son, Richard Oscar Miller, of Geraldine; two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Trunk and Mrs. Harry Williams, of Big Sandy; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Clara Murbach of Providence, Ohio and other relatives and friends.
