Arthur Rosenow, clerk of the town of Oconomowoc, one of the most prominent and respected citizens of the community in whose civic affairs he had taken a leading and helpful interest, died at the Oconomowoc Hospital on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 26, about 12:45, as a result of injuries received the day previous in an accident at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Owen north of the city.

Mr. and Mrs. Owen reside on the farm which was formerly the property of her parents, and is known as the Watterson farm. Mr. Rosenow is a brotherinlaw [sic] of Mr. and Mrs. Owen, Mrs. Rosenow and Mrs. Owen being sisters, and he had gone over to assist in the threshing work. As the work was in progress the separator became clogged, killing the tractor engine. Mr. Rosenow attempted to crank the engine, and in some manner the tank exploded, the buring oil spurting out inflicting burns which brought excruciating pain and agnoy to the injured man. Medical aid was hurriedly summoned and shortly afterward Mr. Rosenow was brought to the Oconomowoc hospital where everything possible to ease the suffering was done. He passed away shortly afternoon on Sunday.

Arthur Rosenow was born Dec. 15, 1878, at the Rosenow farm, Cedar Home Farm, in the town of Oconomowoc, and has resided in that township all of his life. He was married Nov. 15, 1915, to Miss Edith Watterson who with one son, Arthur survive him. He also leaves two sisters and three brothers: Mrs. John McLean of Spokane, Wash.; Miss Dena, Louis, Ernest and Henry Rosenow of the town of Oconomowoc; and a half brother and two half sisters: William Rosenow of Spokane; Mrs. Louisa Klinger of Menomonee Falls and Mrs. Dorothea Wilke of Tonowanda, N.Y.

Mr. Rosenow was well known as one of the most successful members of the farming community about here, and has held several offices of trust and honor in the township, and was clerk of the town at the time of his demise. He had held the office of clerk of the school board for the past seventeen years. He was also prominent in the life of Zion Episcopal churchand was a member of its vestry at the present time. He had ever given of his best efforts in the betterment of life in his community and his sudden and tragic death brought sincere regret and sorrow to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. this Friday afternoon at the residence thence to Zion Episcopal church with burial in La Belle cemetery.
