Mrs. Iva M. Hurdle, 84, native and former resident of Huntington County, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday at the Waldo Nursing Home at Hartford City after an illness of 10 months.

Mrs. Hurdle had lived in Huntington County and this city all her life until four years ago when she went to Hartford Cit to live with a granddaughter, Mrs. Zach Mahorney. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church, the Indiana Firemen's Association Auxiliary and the Jolly Club of 1910, this city, and the Browns Corners Rebekah Lodge.

Mr. Hurdle was born December 3, 1875, to Warren and Salome Forst Wilson in Union Township. She married Oscar F. Hurdle June 6, 1896. He died December 9, 1946.

Surviving are four sons, Wilson Hurdle of Hartford City, Ralph Hurdle of Syracuse, Paul M. Hurdle, Huntington, and Warren Hurdle, Huston [sic], Texas; two grandchildren, Mrs. Mahorney, at whose home she lived, and William Hurdle, Huntington, and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Briggs-Merckx Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Reuben A. Stauss officiating. Burial will be in the Barnes Chapel Cemetery.

Members of the Rebekah lodge will hold twilight services at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
