Narrative

[Wedding announcement for Gertrude Schoen and Morse Reynolds, from the Oconomowoc Enterprise, 20 Jul 1923.]

Announcement is made by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schoen of Fort Atkinson, formerly of Oconomowoc, of the marriage of their daughter, Gertrude Helen, to Mr. Morse Reynolds, youngest son of Dr. and Mrs. F. Reynolds of Beloit, Wis., which took place at Rockford on Monday, June 25th.

The bride wore an old rose canton crepe gown and hat to match and corsage of bride roses and lillies of the valley. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Harding, sister and brother-in-law of the groom were the attendants. Mrs. Harding wore light green canton crepe and hat to match and corsage of sweet peas. A supper at the Nelson House followed the service.

The bride was a private operator and stenographer at the office of the Lipman Co. The bridegroom graduated in the year 1918 and also attended college, he is a salesman at the Fairbanks Morse Co.

They will make their home on 1212 Wisconsin avenue, Beloit.

The bride is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schoen of Oconomowoc and has frequently visited here.

[Editing note - the matrimonial announcement appeared in the column next to the lengthy obituary for Gertrude's uncle, Edward Schoen, a prominent figure in local Oconomowoc commerce who'd been in business with his father for twenty years as "Chas. Schoen and Son."]
