Narrative

Note: Dellin F. Segar's marital and military history

I have not yet found any marriage record for Dellin and his wife Helen; I would assume they married sometime in the late 1930s, but I have not been able to establish exactly when. Dellin was counted twice in the 1930 US Census - once in his parents' household, and once as a boarder in the household of Emory and Ruth Baldwin in Manchester, Freeborn Cty, Minnesota. By the time of the 1940 US Census, he was counted with his wife, Helen.

The earliest record I have found for any children born to Dellin and Helen is a death record for what was presumably an infant death - a baby girl - in early 1943. Just four months later, in July of 1943, Dellin enlisted in the US Army at Fort Snelling for service in World War II. In September of 1944, there is a birth and death record for an infant son who lived only a day.

Dellin and Helen had two surviving children, sons Michael Henry (b. 1946) and Thomas Lee (b. 1949). I have not found further record of other children born to the couple.
