Note: The family and marriages of Delphi Marton Norton

After the 1910 US Census counting Delphie in his parents' household, the next record I can find for him is his listing in the 1930 US Census placing him in Elgin, Union Cty, Oregon with his sister Dilla's family, his own wife Violet (Oregon-born, aged twenty-two), and his son Ernest (Canada-born, two years old). I have not found any marriage record for Delphie and Violet at this point, nor do I know her vital dates or maiden name. Given her age, I think it likely this was her first marriage.

By the 1940 US Census, Delphie is found in Ten Mile Twp, Whatcom Cty, Washington, this time living only with his son Ernest and a younger son Edward, Washington-born and aged nine. Violet does not appear in the listing with the three of them, though Delphie's marital status is given as "married."

Delphie died in 1959, and his listing on the FindaGrave.com website indicates he was married to Grace D. (Broske) Sizelove (b. 1908, d. 1989), though I have found no marriage record for the two of them as of yet. I do not know how his marriage to Violet ended, nor if he was married to anyone else in the interim. I also do not know if he had any children beyond Ernest and Edward.

I have not found confirmed records after 1940 for either of his sons, though I will note there is a burial listing on the FindaGrave.com website for Ernest D. Norton, Sr., b. 14 Nov 1927, d. 9 Oct 1991, that may belong to his older son.
