Resident of the local community most of her life, Mrs. Myrtle Reynolds, 88, died at 9:22 p.m. Thursday in the Huntington County Hospital where she was a patient the last two days after becoming seriously ill. She had been in failing health the last two years.

Mrs. Reynolds had lived with a daughter, Mrs. Esther Frushour, on Etna Avenue extended and had lived the last year with another daughter, Mrs. Landon (Irene) Shultz of Rt. 3 Warren.

She was born August 18, 1874, in Whitley Couty to Edward and Ellen Wilson Stuver. Her marriage on March 17, 1897, was to Edward Reynolds, who died March 29, 1938.

Surviving are the two daughters, Mrs. Frushour and Mrs. Shultz, a grandson, Terry Frushour, and a brother, Henry Stuver. A sister, Mrs. Perry Hubbartt, and three young brothers are dead.

Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday in the Bailey Mortuary where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.Sunday in the chapel with the Rev. Larry Ulrich officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Irene's death in 1989 marked the passing of the last of the family of Myrtle Rosa, and the end of her line.

A large portion of the reason I constructed this timeline was, initially, to try and date some of the photos I have from the files of Jane Anne Thomas for Myrtle Rosa's family. Several of the photos were annotated many, many years later, by Jane Anne or her friend Jean Pasko, relying, I'm sure, on Jane Anne's memory in many cases of identification. Many of these annotations were mistaken, and sorting out who could be present in the various photos was a task that relied both upon comparisons to known earlier and later photos, along with noting who was still alive at various stages of the family members' lives.

The biggest mystery at this point is the identity of two young women who appear in a few of the photos - they appear to be mother and daughter, or perhaps sisters with a large age gap between them, and appear in at least a few photos that also include Edward Andrew Reynolds, who died in 1937. I don't believe them to be members of Myrtle Rosa's immediate family, and it's noted as a possibility that one of them could be a niece of Landon Shultz. This is a definite possibility, as I haven't pursued research into his family as of yet.
