Narrative
[Excerpt from Christian Metzger: Founder of an American Family 1682-1942, p177.]
R. Waldo Intermill says: "I grew up on the Frederick Weible farm (this was the original Jacob and Nancy Metzger Weible homestead in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio, a few miles west of Canal Dover.) and then I taught in a little country school house for a time at $30.00 per month. This did not seem very remunerative. So I left the farm for the city.
I obtained work in a steel plant at which I worked in various capacities from the office to a job on the hot mill's floors. After ten years of this I was coerced into accepting the position of Manager of the best farm in Iowa. It looks like a life-time job."
Mr. Intermill is an adherent of the Methodist Episcopal Church and has been Superintendent of the Sunday School at Dayton, Iowa for ten years (1941).
