The following is transcribed from the notations on the back of this photo, written by Katherine Watson (m. Hughes). I've guessed this photo to be from about 1925, based on the apparent ages of Katherine and her brother Lewis. My editing notes will appear in brackets.
"This was taken late last summer. I'm going to start from the left and tell you who's who. Lewis [Lewis Edward Watson, Sr.] is first, Jessie Hale, a girlfriend of mine, mother [Margaret Kerr (Bayha) Watson], myself [Margaret Katherine Watson], and Earl. I have lost weight since this was taken, and believe me I'm not sorry. What do you think of our crowd? Earl is from Jeffersonville, Indiana."
