Narrative

Note: Researching Rolland Victor Weible

There have been some definite gaps in the records I have found for Rolland, most notably his marriage, his death, and his burial, though these are not the only missing pieces of information.

His birthdate is reported consistently on both his WWI and WWII draft registration cards, though I have found no birth record for him. Likewise, I have found no death record for Rolland, though his wife, Ruby, remarried in December 1956 (to Otto Skiver) and specified that she was a widow, so I believe he must have died prior to that point, possibly by some years. I have also not found a burial location for him.

I have not found a listing for Rolland in the 1920 US Census, though he does not appear to have been living with his parents and sister Pearl in that counting. In 1918, when he registered for the draft for WWI, he named his mother as his closest living relative. His wife-to-be, Ruby, was still counted as a young single woman in her parents' household in 1920. Rolland and Ruby's first known child, Alvilda, was born in February 1922, suggesting that the two most likely married in late 1920 or sometime in 1921.
