Narrative

At the time of their wedding, Theodore's wife Josephine bore the same surname as he did (Voirol), as did her two children from her first marriage. She was born Josephine M. Fry, and married on 11 Nov 1930 to Norbert Voirol. Norbert was a son of Frank Voirol and Mary Reuille; Frank was a son of Eleanor (Cayot) Voirol Lamblin, from her first marriage to Jule Voirol (b. 1837).

Theodore was himself a son of Jule Voirol (b. 1877) and Julia Gromeaux; Theodore's paternal grandfather was Florent Voirol (b. 1842), who seems likely to have been a sibling or cousin to Norbert's grandfather Jule. Additionally, Theodore's maternal grandmother was Marie Catherine (Cayot) Gromeaux, the presumed younger sister of Norbert's paternal grandmother Eleanor.

As best I can figure, then, Josephine was the widow of a man to whom Theodore was likely related on one and possibly two branches of his ancestry, though neither is confirmed yet. On the Voirol line it appears Theodore and Norbert were at least third cousins, and possibly second cousins (depending upon the relationship between the eldest Jule and Florent Voirol), and on the Cayot line Theodore and Norbert may well have been second cousins.
