Narrative

Note: Researching Jennie Mast

Jennie did not marry until she was twenty-seven, to Clifford Johnson, in 1909, in her native Champaign Cty, Ohio. The next year, she and Clifford moved to Kansas, where he appears to have been a doctor. Clifford died in 1914, and Jennie remained in Kansas for several years, taking on boarders at times (such as is found in the 1920 US Census).

By 1925, she had moved back to Champaign Cty, Ohio, and married the widower Harvey T. Swisher. The two of them appear to have remained in that local area until their deaths in 1963 (Harvey) and 1973 (Jennie). Harvey was buried in King's Creek Baptist Cemetery in Kingscreek, Champaign Cty, Ohio, with his first wife (Lela Rilla Savage), while Jennie was buried with her first husband back in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Montgomery Cty, Kansas.

Jennie appears to have had no children during either marriage.
