Charlotte Lowey Forst, 65, Elwood, died Monday morning (Sept. 14, 1981) in Hinsdalle, Ill., following a long illness.
Mrs. Forst, a former employee of the Herald-Press, graduated from Huntington High School and Indiana University. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Delta Gamma Sorority and Tri Kappa Sorority, all at Elwood; the Sigma Delta Chi Fraternity and the Elwood Country Club.
She was retired from employment as a case worker surpervisor for the Madison County Department of Public Welfare.
Her marriage was on Jan. 27, 1940 to Darwin E. Forst, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Perry W. (Genie) Boyer, Elwood, Mrs. Steven B. (Dodi) Larrick, Hinsdale, Ill., Mrs. Terry (Susan) Floyd, Schaumberg [sic], Ill., and Mrs. Joseph M. (Polly) Graham, Anderson; the mother, Mrs. E. Rex Lowey, South Bend; three sisters, Mrs. J.D. Ray, Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. John Delcamp, Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. R.L. Hendricks, South Bend and 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Dunnicay Funeral Home, Elwood, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm.m Wednesday. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elwood, with Rev. Paul Wicklum and Rev. Robert Fossman officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, and preferred memorials are to the Madison County Retarded Childrens Association.
