GAYLORD "FUDGE" FRANCIS GROMEAUX, 77, died Monday at Adams County Memorial Hospital. Born in Monroeville, he retired in 1975 from International Harvester Co. after 30 years. He later worked at Prestress Services in Decatur. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy M. Gromeaux of Decatur and Barbara J. Rudolph of Fort Wayne; a brother, Carl of Decatur; a sister, Velma Rohrbaugh of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren.

Prayer services at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur. Calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 4 p.m.

Burial in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville, with military graveside rites by Adams Post 43, American Legion. Memorials to Masses, Adams County Cancer Society or to Fort Wayne Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
