[headline] Two Neighbor Women, Son of One killed

Two women who were neighbors near Monroeville and the son of one of them were killed in a car-truck collision at 11 a.m. yesterday on Ind. 101, about a mile south of town. The 12-Year old daughter of the second woman was critically injured. The women were driving the vehicles involved. Pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Allen County Coroner, Jack Roberts, was Mrs. Mary Rose Zuber, 41, of R.R.2, Monroeville, driver of the car, who died of a broken neck and massive internal injuries. Her son, David Ivan, 12, also died at the scene of head and internal injuries.

Mrs. Helen Theresa Dawson, 42, of R.R. 1, Monroeville, mother of seven was dead on arrival at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur. Dr. Richard Lynn, Adams County coroner, said death resulted from a broken neck and crushed chest. Mrs. Dawson was thrown from the pickup truck upon impact.

Pamela Dawson, 12, last night was listd in poor condition in the intensive care unit of Parkview Memorial Hospital with severe facial injuries. She was transferred there soon after being taken to Adams County Memorial. Indiana State Police Trooper R. P. Selking said there were no witnesses to the accident and the Dawson girl's condition will not permit questioning. The trooper said there was a light snow falling at the time of the accident.

Joining in the investigateion were Allen County Sheriff's Sgt. Larry Vaughn and Capt. Robert Hough and Deputy Charles Davis.

The multiple death accident raised the 1970 combined Fort Wayne, Allen County death toll to 76. Services for Mrs. Dawson, a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, are imcomplete at the Marquart Funeral Home, Monroeville.

Surviving are her husband, Albert, two daughters, Pamela and Kathleen, and five sons, Dennis M., Larry S., Jeffrey, Jonathan D., and Joseph S., all at home; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Haskemp of New Haven, Mrs. Marjorie Burline of Columbus, Mrs. Rita Sabada of Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. Patricia Sirl of Hamburg, N. Y., and one brother, Robert Ryan, Centerville, Ohio.
