Narrative
Iris appears in several photos with Ernest Thompson that date from sometime in the early 1960s; family members recall that she was his caretaker in later life, and that they married sometime prior to his death. Hemstock was her surname from her first marriage, to William H. Hemstock, with whom she had several children; that marriage presumably ended in divorce, as William died in 1970 in Washington state.
