Dwain C. Vollmar of Elmwood Road, Caro, died Sunday in Lewiston at the age of 62.

He was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Tuscola County, the son of Opal Vollmar and the late Otto Vollmar.

A farmer and U.S. Army veteran, he was married to the former Helen Smakowski June 5, 1948, in Colling. He was a member of the Tuscola County Farm Bureau and a former member of the Elmwood Township Board.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Vollmar; one daughter, Mrs. James (Diane) LaPratt of Unionville; 3 sons, Gary and his wife, Barb, and Dale Vollmar and Randy Vollmar, all of Cass City; 3 grandchildren, Michele LaPratt, Duane LaPratt and Christopher Dorland; his mother, Opal Vollmar of Pigeon; 7 brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his father, Otto, in 1984, and one brother, Frederic, in 1966.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Collon Funeral Home in Caro, with the Rev. Gary Groth officiating.

Burial is to be in Indianfields Township Cemetery.
