[headline] Joseph Sovine Sr. Dies at Age 88; Services Monday

A resident of Ind., 124 East until six months ago when he moved to Fort Wayne, Joseph V. Sovine Sr. 88, died at 1 a.m. today at Lutheran Hospital, ill the last several years. His death was attributed to a stroke and a respiratory ailment.

A retired Adams County rural mail carrier and Fruehauf employee, Mr. Sovine attended Grace Baptist Church.

Born March 19, 1892, in Adams County, he was a son of John and Elizabeth Hower Sovine. His marriage to Clara M. Call, who died Nov. 5, 1967, took place in Tocsin April 7, 1917.

The Sovine's only child, a son was killed several years ago in an auto accident.

Surviving are two grandsons, Donald Sovine of Fort Wayne and Rev. Carl Sovine of Toccoa, Ga.; a brother, David L. Sovine of
Pleasant Mills and five grandchildren.

Calling after 1 p.m. Sunday will be at Goodwin Memorial Chapel with services there at 10:30 a.m. Monday in charge of Rev. Carl Sovine and Rev. Edward Johnston. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
