[Obituary for Charles James Wygant, posted online to the FindaGrave.com website.]
The son of Charles and Daisy Marriott Wygant, Charles was the youngest of seven children. Named for his father and his English maternal grandfather, he and his siblings lived in rural Perrysburg Township. He ice skated on the Maumee River and went sledding on its banks. He graduated from Perrysburg High School and played football on the team that won the league trophy. At the age of twenty, he married Thelma Louise Wieble in Covington, Kentucky, on 18 October 1948, and they had six children. They lived in Charles's boyhood home. Charles worked for the Toledo Museum of Art for a number of years. He had owned his own construction company and even built his own swimming pool. He was a practical joker and loved to laugh. We miss him.
