Note: Researching Melvin Frushour
For having such a unique name, I've been able to find very little information on Melvin, including any confirmed US Census listings. There are two burial listings on the FindaGrave.com website - one of which is in section "H" of Mount Hope Cemetery (Huntington, Huntington Cty, Indiana) and with vital dates of simply b. 1900, d. 1953. This is the same cemetery and section in which his wife Esther and his son Terry are listed, also with just the years for their vital dates. The listings include no photographs of the stones or other information, and the supplemental information on the listings does not link the three of them as family.
Buried in Fairview Cemetery (in Servia, Wabash Cty, Indiana), according to FindaGrave.com, is a Melvin Wilson Frushour, b. 1900, d. 1956 - buried with his wife Margaret, b. 1906, d. 1930. The supplemental information links this Melvin Frushour to both Margaret and Esther. I'm uncertain whether this is accurate, though it is possible - Melvin and Esther weren't married until 1933, though the only source I have for this date is a note from the files of Jane Anne Thomas. That listing also gives his father as George Wilson Frushour, though I still don't know if that applies to the Melvin Frushour in our family tree or if there was a second Melvin Frushour in Indiana of about the same age. (The Frushour family seemed to re-use names quite a bit, even moreso than others of their generations; there are several George Frushours buried in the same region of Indiana, spanning three or four generations.)
Despite the abundance of pictures I have from Jane Anne's files for Esther's family, Melvin appears in very few of them, and is absent from the pictures in the later decades of the family's life. This would seem to hold with his presumed death at a relatively early age.
